For the peppers à la Milanese, heat the oil. Sauté the onion and mince in it, add half of the strained tomatoes and heat while stirring.

Season to taste with spices. Fill the mixture into 4 bell pepper halves and sprinkle with cheese. Place in a greased baking dish and cook in a preheated oven at 200 degrees.

In the meantime, cut the remaining peppers into small pieces and steam them with the remaining strained tomatoes until soft.

Add the sauce to the bell pepper halves and cook for about 20 minutes. Serve peppers à la Milanese with rice.
