Instructions:

Prepare the dumplings according to instructions, cook, strain and rinse with cold water. Finely chop the onions. Fry bacon cubes in a hot pan, add onions and sauté until light. Meanwhile, dice smoked meat and sausage, then add to pan and sauté. Mix in well drained dumplings and fry, stirring vigorously, until more or less crispy to taste. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. Roast the bacon slices until extra crispy. Arrange the dumplings on warmed plates, place a slice of bacon decoratively on each and sprinkle with freshly chopped chives.
