A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Christa Keil: “Here is another old recipe I have from my grandmother – which is really good:”

Grate the potatoes, mix with the eggs and the flour, season with salt (not too much, because of ham and sausages !)

Fry the ham slices (not cooked ham, but smoked ham !) in an ovenproof cast iron pan, take out the ham slices.

Place a layer of potatoes in the frying pan, then a layer of prunes, repeat a layer of potatoes, sausage slices and ham (cut into small pieces), finish with a layer of potatoes.

Put the pan in the oven heated to 225 °C, bake for 1 hour.

Serve with: beet syrup, apple puree, sauerkraut, depending on your taste.
