Peel the potatoes and cut into very thin slices. Rub a shallow gratin dish with the garlic clove and grease with butter. Put in a layer of potato slices, season with herb salt, black pepper and nutmeg and sprinkle with the cheese. Do the same with two more layers of potatoes. Mix whipped cream, sour cream, water and eggs together and finally pour over the potatoes so that they are just covered. Cover the gratin dish and bake everything together in a heated oven at 200 degrees for about 60 minutes. Now remove the cover, sprinkle the potatoes with cheese, put butter flakes on top and bake for another 15 min until the cheese has a golden yellow color.

Our tip: As an alternative to fresh herbs, you can also use frozen ones – these are also characterized by a fresh taste!
