For the pumpkin seed heart cakes, preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat.

Mix butter with egg yolks, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, walnuts and chopped pumpkin seeds. Mix flour with baking powder and stir into the batter. Mix in pumpkin seed oil. Beat egg whites with a mixer until stiff and gently fold into the batter.

Pour the mixture into heart-shaped molds or a heart-shaped baking tray and bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes – test with a stick. Allow the cakes to cool well and turn them out. Then garnish the pumpkin seed heart cakes with whipped cream and chopped pumpkin seeds.
