For the rainbow chocolate cake, first prepare the dough. For the dough, whisk well the soft butter with the eggs, baking powder and sugar.

Now slowly sift in the flour and cocoa powder. Stir until a homogeneous mass is formed. So that the cake is nice and high, I take a form with 20 cm diameter.

Brush the mold with oil and dust with a little flour. Now fill in the dough. Bake at 190 °C in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes.

You can check with a wooden stick if the cake is done before you take it out of the oven. If the cake is not completely done, it may collapse.

Let the cake cool down well! Cut cake in half and spread with apricot jam. Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie while stirring constantly and cover the entire cake with it.

It is best to put the cake on a rack. Now you have to be quick. It is best to sort the chocolate lentils by color beforehand.

Start in the middle with a curved line and add more and more lentils until the whole cake is covered.
