Instructions:

First melt the butter and set aside to cool.

Beat the egg whites until firm, then beat in the sugar by the spoonful.

Mix the grated nuts with the flour and powdered sugar and carefully fold into the firm beaten egg whites, finally briefly stir in the melted butter.

Pour the mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan and bake at medium heat (approx. 170 °C) for about 50 minutes.

Let the cake cool slightly, turn it out of the pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
