Smoothie variations

While traditional fruit juices consist of the squeezed juice of one fruit, smoothies involve pureeing entire fruits. Depending on the recipe, the fruit market or fruit puree is then mixed with juices to keep the desired creamy consistency – hence also the English word “smooth” as in fine, uniform, creamy.

A smoothie can be made quite simply the same: The fruits, such as bananas, peaches, kiwis or raspberries, are peeled or pitted if necessary and then pureed in a hand blender. If the fruit pulp is too viscous, a small amount of apple juice, orange juice or pear juice is added, depending on the flavor. There is a mass of recipes and ingredients for smoothies. Depending on your preferences, you can also add chocolate, peanut butter or green tea.

Tip: Do you prefer milk chocolate or dark chocolate? Depending on that, use what you like better.
