Instructions:

Lard the pike along the back alternately with strips of bacon and anchovy fillets. Rub inside and out with juice of one lemon, sprinkle inside with dill, leave for half an hour. Just before frying, season fish with salt.

If sauce is desired, pour a small amount of whipping cream and wine into the roasting sauce, boil everything together well and bind lightly with flour butter.
