For the strawberry and curd dumplings, first cream the butter and then alternately add the eggs, flour and curd cheese. Also add vanilla sugar, a pinch of salt and the zest of half a lemon and mix well.cover the dough and refrigerate for about 4 hours.
Then bring a pot of water to a boil and add salt.
Now form small dumplings from the curd mass with moistened hands and press a hole in each of them, in which a frozen strawberry comes. Close the dumplings again and let them simmer in the salted water for about 2 minutes. Then reduce the temperature and let it steep for another 6 minutes.
The strawberry and curd dumplings taste best with breadcrumbs, compote or fruit puree.
