Sweet Earth Apple and Apple Casserole

Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Peel the potatoes, halve lengthwise and cut into 1.5 cm thick slices. Grease a casserole (about 2 l or corresponding baking dish) with butter (I). Mix sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small baking bowl. Peel apples, quarter, core and cut quarters into four roughly equal pieces.

Place one-third of the potato slices in the crockpot and sprinkle with salt. Crumble half of the sugar mixture over the potatoes and top with butter flakes (Ii). Layer half of the apples on top of the potatoes in the crock pot.

Repeat layering, finishing with remaining potatoes and butter flakes (Ii). Close the pot with a lid or foil.

Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Remove the lid or foil. Spoon the liquid from the pot over the potatoes, sprinkle with the cereal and bake for another 35 minutes without the lid.

Garnish and serve on the spot.
