Instructions:

For the Gardener’s Fall Fruit Chutney, place all ingredients together in a large pot (or divide ingredients into 2 smaller pots) and simmer for 2 1/2 hours until mixture thickens and becomes sticky. Stir occasionally, as liquid rises to the top during cooking and the chutney thickens over the bottom of the pot first. Continue stirring until the liquid is reduced and the mixture takes on the consistency of a chutney.

Using a ladle, pour into warm, sterilized jars and seal airtight. The chutney can be eaten as soon as it has cooled, as it does not need to infuse first like other chutneys. Fresh it tastes best with some fresh white bread and a long aged cheddar – a heavenly combination!
