For the vanilla ice cream, cut open the vanilla pod, scrape it out and heat the vanilla pulp and the scraped out pod with the milk. bring to the boil once briefly.

Whisk the egg yolks with the powdered sugar until well frothy. Gradually stir the milk into the egg yolk cream. Remove the vanilla pod and return the mixture to the pot.

Now stir everything together on the lowest heat until the mixture thickens. it should not boil in any case. Then pour the mass into the container of the ice cream maker and let it stir into ice cream in about 30 minutes.

Pour the finished ice cream into glasses with a scoop portioner and garnish as desired.
