Instructions:

Boil honey with water (1) for about 10 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the stove, cover with a damp tea towel and leave to cool.

Cut the candied orange peel very thinly and knead it with the grated lemon peel, the wholemeal flour and the honey syrup to a smooth dough. Cover and let rest for 12 hours.

Divide the dough into equal pieces and form each piece into a ring. Grease a baking tray (*), place the rings on it, cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 12 hours.

Sprinkle the rings with water (2), bake in a heated oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove the rings from the baking sheet and cool.

(*) Tip: rather use parchment paper, you can then take the rings but better from the baking sheet!
