For the cocoa cherry cake, beat butter and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add eggs, beat until fluffy. Add salt and vanilla sugar. Mix flour with baking powder, add to the batter and mix well.

Spread the dough on a small, high baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cover with cherries. Preheat the oven to 200 °C, insert the tray and bake for about 35 minutes.

Then brush with hot, strained apricot jam and sprinkle with flaked almonds.
